Review of Suspect (1987) by Jennifer A — 01 Apr 2006
I'm beginning the rather lengthy task of entering into the database every film I have seen, at least those I have a decent memory of. Some may have the briefest of reviews while many will just have a number. Those films that I consider personal favorites and/or those that have some historical signficance I will add later when I have time for more lengthy reviews.
The Hitcher, directed by Robert Harmon, stars Rutger Hauer as a serial killer hitchhiker. C. Thomas Howell gives him a ride and Hauer begins to taunt him, leaving a series of victims in his wake. As a slasher film it's fairly enertaining, but not necessarily good. Also features Jennifer Jason Leigh.
The Best of Times, directed by Roger Spottiswoode, stars Robin Williams as a man who has yet to recover from dropping a pass in a crucial high school football game. Over ten years later he wants to stage a rematch. Also stars Kurt Russell and Pamela Reed.
Suspect, directed by Peter Yates, is a pretty decent courtroom drama starring Cher, Dennis Quaid and Liam Neeson.
Tucker: A Man and His Dream, directed by Francis Ford Coppolla, stars Jeff Bridges as Preston Tucker, a would-be automobile mogul. It's a decent, but ultimately bland film despite a stellar cast which includes Joan ALlen, Martin Landau, Christian Slater, Dean Stockwell, Lloyd Bridges and Frederic Forrest.
