Review of Surviving the Game (1994) by Craig S — 24 Jun 2009
In which Ice-T has huge natty dread. No one should be proud of being involved with this project, but also no one should be ashamed. This was just another take The Deadliest Game or whatever and felt like a more focused Hard Target.
Ice-T has the screen presence of a potato and delivers some hilariously lame one-liners. Gary Busey, however, must be cast in roles like this where he is a morally (however warped) motivated psychopath whenever possible.
Dr. Cox from Scrubs is in this for a little, looking like a jacked up cowboy from Texas. I also forgot that Rutger Hauer was one of the main characters in this, despite knowing beforehand. He really looks nothing like his 80s self, despite this being made in 94.
I suppose it's worth watching for the really weird cast. Also, I think there's only a couple lines that female characters have in this entire movie.
