Review of Surveillance (2008) by Michael D — 02 Feb 2010
Steadily moving suspense and a hard edge make this little thriller surprisingly effective. It has David Lynch written all over it, but was in fact directed by his daughter, but she definitely knows the trade.
She helped David Lynch develop aspects of the Twin Peaks universe and this film is almost a good companion - an odd murder story in small town that starts to border on horror. It's unconventional and at times hard to watch, but a well grounded psychological thriller.
