Review of Surveillance (2008) by Mike P — 17 May 2010
Not bad at all...
Jennifer Lynch manages to pile on the intrigue from the opening scenes as we follow Pullman and Ormond on the trail of some pretty nasty crims.... Atmosphere plays a heavy part here and it is very effective here. The way that the story is told is pretty good, relying on the accounts of witnesses who have their own motives.
The cast are pretty good and the quirky nature of the film suits them well. It only starts to fall apart when the story comes together at the end. The reveal is nicely played but it doesn't really deliver the goods that it should.
Overall, this is well played and well made.
