Review of Supervention (2013) by Tor M — 23 Nov 2017
A documentary where we follow freeskiers around the globe. Mostly Norwegian people, Aksel Lund Svindal included, but also some Swedes and other nationalities are represented.
This stuff is crazy. Some cool cats having fun, throwing themselves from mountain tops, sloping through rocks and iceblocks. There are some vivid imagery here and nice natureshots. It made me look forward to winter in a way. I also dig the parting of urban skiing and wild nature skiing. I dig both types, but the imagery from Svalbard was just amazing.
There is not much else to say about the film really. It's showing off this crazy lifestyle and sport splendidly, but it also a bit long and almost turn boring as they throw themselves down mountain after mountain, stairset after stairset.
7 out of 10 cabbage soups.
