Review of Supersonic (2016) by Edricnes E — 25 Dec 2016
Simply put, a great documentary with loads of hilarious and rare scenes. Some of it leave you wondering who the hell cared enough to even record the Gallagher brothers' nonsense.
Cleverly, the documentary shows only their early years from 1991 (and the Gallagher's childhoods) to their enormous concert in Knebworth in 1996. It's basically their rise from zero to their peak. Like Noel said, they had no clue what to do after those gigs. They were basically already at the top. Even though I'd still count the 1997 era (Be Here Now) as their peak, there were already so much material to tinker with from those early years.
Many people may dislike their attitude and way of thinkings. But one thing for sure, they don't care. At all.
That's also what makes them really popular and ultimately successful too. Moreover, this makes them a really unique and different band just like what Liam always emphasizes, they're not boring unlike the other bands.
Now, combine the madness of Oasis, the great music from young and ambitious Noel Gallagher, and excellent editing with voiceover narrations from the band members. All of those surely make an awesome documentary that will satisfy and give a taste of wild 90's music scene to the audiences, especially the die hard fans.
Very recommended, I'd not hesitate to give it at least a 9.5 rating.
