Review of Superman vs. The Elite (2012) by Ifiok O — 04 Jan 2013
There exists plenty of worthwhile stories about the Man of Steel, despite what others may say as the opposite. Again, DC Animated creates a pretty good adaptation of a classic story, as it brings up the hot button issue about Superman's moral idealism becoming seemingly out dated in comparison to a more extreme approach.
The film deals with this by having the values of Superman confronted by those of The Elite, vigilante heroes who willingly and even gleefully use lethal force against other villains. Overall, I thought it was great representation of Superman as a hero, and it brought up important questions about what kind of heroes are needed.
