Review of Superman vs. The Elite (2012) by Dc E — 08 Jun 2012
"Superman Vs. The Elite" 10 Scale Rating: 8.0 (Great) ...
The Good: Not intended for children with dark themes, curse words, violence and death ... "Superman Vs. The Elite" provides comic book fans with a far more grim and gritty Superman tale. The subject matter is topical and relevant, though most will dismiss it since it is a comic book movie. It is very well written with amazing dialogue mixed with excellent action sequences. It also doesn't use the same over-used villains and instead uses villains sparsely used in the DC Universe.
The Bad: As a cartoon based on a comic book, most non-fans won't notice this film. That's too bad because they are missing out on a great story that is better than most movies released in theaters these days. One complaint I do have is the way Superman was drawn. He seemed to stick out from everyone else design-wise and was far more "cartoony" than everyone else ... especially in the face. The ending is a little hokey, but it IS Superman.
