Review of Superman vs. The Elite (2012) by Kevin R — 17 Nov 2012
My powers do not put me above the law.
The world is split on how Superman handles the villains that he captures. Half the world feels he should serve as judge, jury and executioner and half the world feels he should turn criminals over to the authorities. When a group of vigilantes with super powers arrive that aren't afraid to kill criminals, Superman begins to feel not needed as the planet backs their new found heroes.
"Is that Superman?".
"Not anymore.".
Michael Change, director of episodes of Young Justice, Teen Titans, Jackie Chan Adventures, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, delivers Superman vs. The Elite. The storyline for this picture is very entertaining and contains fascinating characters, a solid overall villain, great dialogue, and pretty good animation (not great but solid). The voices are well selected and include George Newbern, Pauley Perrette, Dee Bradley Baker, Ogie Banks, and Melissa Disney.
"We turn bad guys into memories.".
I was so excited to see this movie upon discovering of its release. I thoroughly enjoyed the All Star Superman picture (although it was not as good as the comics) as well as the recent Superman/Batman films. This wasn't quite as good as those but this was still very good. I adored the delivery of the Metropolis universe and feel this is a must see for Superman fans.
"Hope you like cold showers, Smallville.".
Grade: B+.
