Review of Superman: Unbound (2013) by Ian G — 27 Jun 2013
Its cool to see Braniac get the lead as the villain for this animated Superman tale, in a slightly rejigged first encounter against the biomechanical menace formally of Krypton. Steady animation with some good action flashes also gives the casual fan more of the chance to explore Kandor which is Supergirls home and plays up her arrival as well on the superhero scene.
Might not necessarily cover new ground in the Superman mythos but serves as a good story nonetheless and introduces new character designs for all of the respective players. Also enjoyed the tie in to the Man of Steel's Zod and the comparison to Brainiac in terms of not being able to handle their sensory powers as a way for Superman to defeat them.
Solid.
