Review of Superman Returns (2006) by Jared T — 14 May 2013
Great visual effects and some breathtaking scenes are hampered by a silly plot. The zany schemes of Lex Luthor might have been okay for the Superman of the 80's (which director Bryan Singer was trying to imitate,) but adult audiences expect deeper characters than the cheesy cartoons he throws at us.
Admittedly, Kevin Spacey does a flattering imitation of Gene Hackman.
