I am not sure why Superman Returns did not resonate with many fans. I was very pleased with it and wish they would have done a sequel. Brandon Routhe at times looks so much like Christopher Reeve that it is scary, although he does not have the same acting chops.
Kevin Spacey could not be better as Lex Luthor. I thought the screenplay and plot were excellent. By far, the best part for me was the way they used Marlon Brando's voice to continue the father-son relationship from the first films.
The way they ended the movie, with Superman pronouncing a similar "blessing" over his son, was inspired.
