Special effects, the look of it, some of the action, etc, all good. Spacey's Luthor and Richard White both done well, but I do feel Kate Bosworth does not make the "real" Lois Lane. As for Brandon Routh, I do think he was well cast - he looks the part, and does a very good Reeve Clark Kent impression, however his story in this film a tad creepy -eavesdropping, sneaking into his son's room at night, and so on, and he's not really given that much to do.

The scene where he is beaten up is quite powerful, but at the same time, you do wind up feeling the need to see Superman kick some ass! I also have issue with the central storyline - why throw in a son and such unbecoming jealousy issues?? Perhaps the script and direction did not help.

In addition, there is far too many throwbacks to the original Donner films.
