People seem to have forgotten what made the original Superman movie work. It wasn't a barrage of special effects nonstop action. It told a good story; a timeless story. Superman Returns does that, and more.
This movie understands the Superman character like no other films has before it (or after). This is a beautifully shot, lovingly directed comic book film that serves not only as a modern update, but also as a conclusion to the first 2 Christoper Reeve films.
This isn't just one of my favorite Superhero movies, but one of my all time favorite films. There's something about it that just clicks. If only others could appreciate it like I do.
