Neither good enough to be great nor bad enough to suck, Superman Returns is a perfectly average Superman flick. Brandon Routh is good in the titular role, but he's nothing special. Kevin Spacey is pretty good as Lex Luthor as well.
There's not enough action, but what action there is is great. The special effects are surprisingly great, and Bryan Singer gives the film an interesting new visual style. Overall, Superman Returns isn't for everyone, but it's definitely good.
