A spectacular and thrilling adventure, Superman Returns attempts to clean the slate and return to Richard Donner's original vision. Starring Kevin Spacey, Kate Bosworth, Parker Posey, and newcomer Brandon Routh, the film has an incredible cast that does a good job at reprising the iconic roles of the series; Bosworth in particular really gives a strong and dynamic performance as Lois Lane.
And, the special effects are quite impressive, especially in depicting Superman's powers. Additionally, John Ottman has crafted an outstanding score that's powerful and carries the spirit of John Williams' original.
While the plot's rather mundane, Superman Returns is entertaining and action packed, and brings new energy to the franchise.
