Review of Superman Returns (2006) by Fabiolpinheiro1993 F — 10 Jun 2013
I really liked superman returns, but I cant forget his problems. I loved the tone, the special effects, the cinematography, the acting, the camera shots, the dialogue, but, thats it, the film is very well done with what the script has to offer.
As a reboot this just doesnt work for me, because simply this is exactly like the other super man films. It doesnt offer anything new, different or refreshing, this just seems a sequel. And thats just one of the problems.
Superman is epic and you cant do anything with him, so the film could have more action, but it isnt this that is the problem, is the fact that all the action is just lifting things up, and that takes to the biggest problem of all, this is not a super mans film, this should be called lois returns, or lex returns.
The only thing sup makes is lifting this and grabbing other things, thats it, where is his story, his character development? I mean everything is seen and done trough the prespective of lois and not super man.
It seems the he is actualy a secondary character, he only has like 10 minutes of screen time and is lifting things in the air or flying. Brandom is a wonderfull super man and actor, but the script just doenst let him do anything.
For a 2h and 30 minute film it has simply no developmant and let go all the the story elements it teases. This is just a good executed and whith a good tone film, that just squanders his potential.
