Review of Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987) by Jon N — 18 Aug 2013

This film struggles to reach the standard of the other films but most of its flaws where archived during post production. the first significant change is the opening credits which are not only different in design but look poor as well.

With most superman special effects the low level flight was very good but high level flight looks like poor cut and paste or the same shoot used endlessly. FX clean up is very sloppy here as well with most scenes still showing wires or new york logos.

Putting aside the choppy editing the original length of this film was 45 mins longer. Which gave us the build up to disasters, and a obsession between nuclear man and the newspapers daughter. Along with failed nuclear man attempts.

Its not all bad the double date is fun and so is the gym scene but a make over is what this film needs with the 45 min cut restored the inclusion of new flight sequences and opening credits. And we might have a film that Christopher envisioned.
