Review of Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987) by Anwarul B — 25 Mar 2008
This movie would have been okay if it didn't suffer from bad directing, a bad storyline, bad acting, bad effects and dating badly. Why did they come up with a homo-erotic villain called Nuclear Man instead of using any number of proper villains from the comic books? The whole nuclear arms race gives this a politically correct 80s feel and filming it in Milton Keynes was the final nail in the coffin.
Best bit: Nuclear Man abducting Lacy and flying her out into outer space- where she is unaffected by the lack of breathable atmosphere and air pressure! This movie single-handedly killed off the series for 20 years.
