Review of Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987) by Kyle M — 17 Dec 2014
While it may be an improvement over its predecessor, it still fell short due to bad production timings and decisions to keep the treatment as cheap as it can be. Although it has a clear understanding on what direction it was planned to go through with: a meaningful concept of ridding the world of nuclear warheads, and a premise posed to give an original challenge for the mythology of Superman. Unfortunately, Superman was given a cheap treatment when the production timing wasn't good to fulfill that Quest for Peace. If the financing was beginning to look troubled, a production should go to a halt so a film will be a perfection.
The first two chapters were applauded, the third was a disappointment on the anticipated scales, and finally the fourth and final chapter communicated the wanted direction through mediocrity to become the least of the series despite improving the third's dark hero premise. (C+).
