Review of Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987) by Ember B — 10 Aug 2012
After how crappy the third entry was, its surprising they used the same formula to churn out another one. A lot of people don't even realize there was a fourth film, which is probably for the best.
The plot is one of the weakest I have ever seen, and it's obvious that even Gene Hackman doesn't care this time around. If Superman III was the nail in the coffin for the franchise, this one is the hammer that drives it home, thus ending the original series on a low note.
It's kind of sad seeing as how the same thing happened with the final two entries of the first Batman film series. The best thing to do is pretend this film doesn't even exist.
