Review of Superman III (1983) by Joseph M — 16 Mar 2009
While its desire to use a villain other than Lex Luthor is admirable, everything else about this sequel is wrong. Mean spirited, unfunny, and spends way too much time on who-cares subplots (as if anyone gives a damn about Richard Pryor's antics or Lana Lang's kid).
It's nice that the movie tries to embrace other concepts and characters from the Superman mythology compared to the previous films, but it falls oh so flat.
