Review of Superman III (1983) by Steve U — 17 Oct 2010
"It's the Richard Pryor show! With special guest, Christopher Reeve as Superman!" That's about the most respectable description this flick can get. By this time, the verisimilitude that Richard Donner brought to the franchise had totally dissipated, and no one was even trying except Reeve, whose inner struggle in this film would've been the stuff of legend had it not been so cornily directed by Richard Lester.
Aside from giving Reeve the benefit of the doubt, the only other memorable scene this movie seems to possess is how Annie Ross inexplicably transforms into a cyborg lady at the end. That still creeps me out, and any kid from the 80s will tell you the same thing.
Really dumb, but thanks for giving it your all, Mr. Reeve.
