Review of Superman III (1983) by Eric G — 14 Dec 2008
Despite its title, this movie is more of a comedy starring Richard Pryor. And although I do love Pryor's humor, he really doesn't fit in a Superman movie, especially in a role which gave him more screen time than Christopher Reeve.
The plot was pretty dull, and took forever to set up. And then things just got weird, with Superman fighting Clark Kent and then a supercomputer which came to life. Lacking in a strong villain personality (Vaugh was really just too weak and unimaginative) this movie was left with only Pryor's humor and the we-alll-know-this-isn't-going-anywhere romance with Lana Lang.
That's really not enough to fill two hours.
