Haha. It's not the worst movie of all time, as long as it's not a Superman movie, which it mostly isn't. With elements of, dare I say, Jacques Tati (that opening credit sequence) and the whackiness of Mel Brooks, it almost works as a comedy.
I think there was just a failure to understand what Superman is all about.
