Review of Superman II (1980) by Martin H — 28 Jul 2011
A big drop down in quality from the 1st. There was production problems during the making of this movie and it shows through. If only Richard Donner, director of the 1st movie had been allowed to finish his work on this.
Instead Richard Lester took the reins and redirected much of the movie, giving it a mismatch feel to it. Also hated the comedy elements that he inserted. Christopher Reeve is once again fantastic in his role, as is Terence Stamp who makes a great villian.
But overall a miss opportunity to build on the fantastic 1st movie.
