Review of Superman II (1980) by Trevor R — 20 Mar 2013
Richard Lester fumbles the ending and wreaks havoc on the tone with his campy sense of humor, but Reeve is still in top form, and Terence Stamp is a delightfully wicked villain. I'm also quite fond of Superman's clever defeat of the other Kryptonians at the end.
The loss of Richard Donner is palpable, but this is still a fun movie, albeit one with a considerably weaker understanding of what makes the character work.
