Review of Superman II (1980) by Kevin I — 18 Jun 2013
The main cast is mostly great in this movie, particularly Christopher Reeve and Terrence Stamp. The action is pretty enjoyable when it happens, but the movie tends to get bogged down by excessive cheesiness and attempts at physical humor that end up making many threatening scenarios feel very non-threatening.
The romance plot is rather questionable as well. In the end, Reeve and Stamp's performances alone save this movie. It's mostly very enjoyable from start to finish, but it feels like a missed opportunity for what should have been a great action movie.
