Going from Superman: The Movie to Superman II is like going from Wolfgang Puck's to Hardee's: The latter is not nearly as well-made or as satisfying as the latter. The best parts of Superman II were all shot by Richard Donner before he was unceremoniously booted by the Salkinds in favor of Richard Lester.
Almost all of Lester's scenes are crap compared to what Donner shot.
