Some of the action and animation was pretty well-done, but trying to re-work the story to be able to write Lex Luthor in as the villain, from the discovery of Doomsday to the amoral replacement Superman just didn't work.

I understand they couldn't keep the other DC heroes in, because of legal issues, but they could have kept the Reign of the Supermen more true to the story, possibly even introducing Steel and the Eradicator (they even gave him a robot sidekick! The perfect setup to an Eradicator Superman!).
