Review of Superman: Doomsday (2007) by Newton W — 17 Jul 2008
I rather loathed a good deal of the character designs, ESPECIALLY SUPERMAN's (wtf was with those lines on his face?! yuuck!). Lois' voice actor (Anne Heche) was really incredibly annoying to hear and just totally dreadful. And I didn't feel much of anything from Superman (Adam Baldwin) who was just boring and lacked any kind of dual identity. The story was... lacking. Did I mention I disliked Superman's design?
A lot of things went wrong in this movie. The one Thing- that did shine in this disaster was Luthor (James Marsters) who was both criminally creepy obsessive, and gentlemanly cool. Thanks to the great delivery by Marsters. The animation was nothing less than what I expect from DCAU. And yeah, the script was also not so bad. None the less, better luck next time folks.
Honestly, what were they THINKING with the voice casting?!
