Review of Superman: Doomsday (2007) by Matthew B — 08 Jul 2009
I liked the voice casting, although Adam Baldwin was a little monotone throughout... literally, if you took him at the highest peak of action where he's speaking, and at a calm moment... Same tone of voice. It was a good voice for "Superman", sure, but could have thrown in some different pitches and tones and such in here and there.
Anne Heche and James Marsters were surprisingly good as their parts, which suprises me as I tend to hate them both - espiecally James Marsters. Hate that guy.
I liked the story, although it was slow in the middle and the fights were kind of short for the "epic, the world will end if you don't kill this guy" sorta fights, and the end one was sort of anti-climatic as, again, one-tone Adam Baldwin didn't change his voice at all.
To sum it all up... 'Woot' animation, nice voice casting, story was sort of slow and short, and the fights were aswell, but didn't like how the animators made Adam Baldwin's "Superman" have this kinda weird facial structure, much akin to a brick or a rock.
