Review of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies (2009) by Jexy G — 05 Oct 2009
Great addition to the DC Animated Movie collection, and a great graphic novel to base it off. My only complaint is that it should have been longer. Having read and being a fan of the GN, they could have easily added more of the thoughts that batman and superman have while doing battle together.
.. it really opened up the characters to the viewer. Having said that, they couldn't include everything in the comic, as this GN was basically the beginning of the Infinite Crisis storyline, and also tied in with Batman's past from the comics.
.. so viewers would have been lost, and things would have been left undone. Spoiler Alert: For instance, it is Captain Atom, not Batman, who destroys the kryptonite astroid, which makes more sense, as since the radiation is so strong, only he could blow it up and absorb it.
.. where as Batman could not survive the blast, but they didn't have much of a choice here. Great artwork (about as similiar as you can get to the GN), and great voice acting, bringing back many from the original cast.
They could have gone with the original Luthor downfall instead of him being handcuffed, but either way shows how crazy he really is. Great action and fun to watch over and over again.
