Review of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies (2009) by Heather M — 11 May 2012
Lex Luthor (Clancy Brown) has been elected President of the United States and that naturally comes as bad news for the Man of Steel (Tim Daly). Things get worse when a kryptonite meteor threatens to collide with Earth and Luthor picks that moment to frame Superman for treason.
Hounded by hero and villain alike, the only ally Superman has in this struggle is his old friend Batman (Kevin Conroy). The plot of this superheroic yarn is pretty rudimentary, but director Sam Liu compensates with lots of well-staged action sequences.
The fights, tongue-in-cheek dialogue, and presence of Timmverse voice actors should make this scrappy movie a treat for longtime fans of Superman/Batman: The Animated Series.
