Review of Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (2010) by Justin M — 16 Sep 2010
Whilst Marvel may well be dominating the cinema screen with just about everyone of its Major and Minor heroes getting a look in on screen, DC is leading the way with its animated features. S/B: Apocalypse is taken directly from the pages of the ongoing Superman/Batman periodicals and follows on directly from 2009s S/B: Public Enemies.
With the addition of Supergirl, Darkseid and Wonder Woman this allows the story to travel off world, something that will probably never happen with the characters in their cinema guises, opening up the DCU beyond the regular confines of Gotham and Metropolis.
Fan favourite Conroy returns yet again as the voice of Batman and the underrated Daly once again voices Supes/Kent. The animation is superb highlighting just how seriously DC/Warners take their two most recognisable superheroes, Batman hasn't looked this good in a long time.
