Review of Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (2010) by John C — 29 Sep 2010
Good adaptation of the comic story. Good voice acting using the voices we have all come to know and love from DC Animation. The action is good, culminating in the final battle between Supergirl/Superman and Darkseid, which is great. I felt the scenes on Apocalypse could have been fleshed out more. And there wasn't a good sense of time in the story (feels like the whole thing takes place in a matter of a couple of days. There isn't enough reference to time, just an offhand comment twice in the story).
I also like how they tied it into Superman/Batman Public Enemies at the beginning, making the cartoon universe of those two movies into one.
Plot may be little confusing for those who haven't read the comic story this is based on. However, fans of action super-hero cartoons will not be disappointed, as there are many action/fight scenes throughout.
Note: Supergirl is really the focus here, and main character, with Superman coming in second and Batman/Wonder Woman a distant third and fourth.
