Review of Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (2010) by Kathleen P — 25 Oct 2010
Better than Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, but nowhere near as good as other recent DC Animated efforts like Wonder Woman or Justice League: New Frontier. The emaciated midriffs and gaunt cheekbones art style of Michael Turner does not make for pretty animation, and with the exception of DCU stalwarts Kevin Conroy and Tim Daly the voice work is fairly meh.
I will say the flick climaxes with one of the more brutal (and humorous) superhero smackdowns of recent memory and all the goofy planetary dangers of Apocalypse are rather entertaining. Fun, but not really memorable.
