Review of Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (2010) by Kyle O — 29 Dec 2010
Nothing puts me down more then seeing what I would describe as a "hair-lip" Batman, but the art direction in "Superman/Batman: Apocalypse is pretty awful. Surprising too, since it looks so awesome when you judge it by the cover art.
The premise is basically this: this is the origin story of Super-Girl. yes, voiced by Summer Glau (that hot chick from Firefly, for all you nerdo's out there). Sure it might not be the most accurate telling of how she becomes Super Girl, but who really cares here?
I always enjoy hearing Kevin Conroy voice Batman, and he once again fails to disappoint here. He is the voice of Batman, and combined with Tim Daly as Superman, you have what would seem as a great voice cast. It is too, really. But the source material is too confusing for anyone that's casually watching this, and it's incredible short run time make it not worth it too much. Not to mention everytime Batman was on screen I personally wanted to find out who drew him in this movie and punch him in the mouth so he looked just as stupid.
But with that aside, this is for diehards only.
