Review of Superhero Movie (2008) by Brian M — 21 Apr 2011
I watched the Superhero Movie for the second time last night, and after watching several really bad films, I actually enjoyed the Superhero movie. Mainly because it had a story which the other films lacked, and a lot of it was funny.
The movie seems loosely based on the Spiderman films. Where a young man finds that he has super powers after being bitten by an insect, who then turns himself into a bumbling superhero where the movie starts to parody other superhero films, like X-men and the fantastic four. Where we are taken to a super hero training school, where we meet charactor's like the invisabitch. But, that didn't really lead to much.
The rest of the movie deals with our super hero becoming the Dragon Fly, who now has to fight a new villain, who is a business tycoon that has discovered that the only way he can stay alive is to kill one person a day by sucking the life out of them simply by grabbing them with one hand. Each of them with their own wacky scenes.
Again it's not a great movie, but the acting is decent. And, Leslie Neilson was pretty funny. I'll bet you a hundred bucks you can't get in one hit. So, Leslie Neilson hits the other guy and knocks him out, after shooting him in the hand with a nailgun, to see if he could catch it, like our super hero.
I could go on, but this is long enough already. I liked it.
