Review of Superhero Movie (2008) by Ian H — 20 Nov 2013

The comedic legend Leslie Nielsen is on fine form as usual, he has this ability to make you smile and even giggle just by the expression on his face, and he'll be sorely missed, it's safe to say his appearance in Superhero Movie saves it from being a total flop.

Drake Bell does a decent job too thankfully but Superhero Movie is largely uneven, and at times very flat with jokes that tire out immediately, the slapstick moments are exaggerated to the point of ridiculousness, and most of the time you feel you're laughing just for the sake of it.

It's not the worst of Zucker's films, there have been abominations but this isn't one of them, but it's still far away from achieving greatness.
