Review of Superhero Movie (2008) by Maverick P — 14 Apr 2018
Though hated by critics and audiences, I must confess that I've always had great fondness for Superhero Movie. I enjoy it so much that I like quoting lines from it. Sure, it stumbles at some points due to some jokes (Who remembers the "Fave Five" cell phone plan?), but for the most part, I found it to be a very enjoyable, hilarious parody of the 2002 Spider-Man film (While also taking jabs at X-Men, Batman, and Fantastic Four).
It's goofy, over the top fun from beginning to end because of the performances (Leslie Nielsen, anyone?), the very successful jokes ("You're nothing but an ugly, ungrateful little whore! Just like your mother!" "Who was that?" "My mother.
"), and its infectious enthusiasm. I have watched this film multiple times and I will continue to enjoy it as time goes by. It's one of my ultimate guilty pleasures in comedy genre.
