Superman's supercute cousin travels to Earth from a city in something called 'Inner Space', which is never explained, but I doubt that would have helped much. A very silly movie indeed, with a wonderful camp-o-rific performance out of Faye Dunaway as villainess Selena.
A lot of good actors in ridiculous roles (Peter O'Toole and Mia Farrow, fer starters) make this oddball disaster actually kinda watchable. An extra point for Helen Slater in that outfit.
