Review of Supergirl (1984) by Dave C — 12 Feb 2007
Faye Dunaway is an evil witch, I mean she plays an evil witch, The Siren of Endor in fact, and there's not an ewok in sight. The story starts with a chunk of the planet Krypton with one city on it floating about, this city is shielded from the cold vacuum of space by thin plastic sheeting.
Overall I'm afraid there's not much fun to be had watching this poor movie that could have been so much better. The film contains plenty of silliness such as the terrifying moment where Supergirl's love interest is put in mortal danger by magically teleporting him onto a dodge 'em ride.
Also while Dunaway is the in middle of doing evil the doorbell rings and she utters the best line in the movie "If that's the goddamn Jehovah's Witnesses again...".
