Review of Supercross (2005) by Nealm. — 25 Sep 2005
"Supercross" spectacular racing photography, best during the Las Vegas THQ AMA Championship, makes the film worth seeing. Bright Vegas stadium lights allowed the cameras (including an over-the-stadium cable system) to stop way down and put crystal-clear images on film.
Editing added to the extreme. "Supercross" would play best in the theater due to the graphic and solid-clean speedway cinematography near the movie conclusion. A re-edit would improve the beginning of "Supercross.
" Some scenes that were taken out of the film's beginning were missed, and several that were included lacked film charm. Actors are mostly young and feature talented "unknowns" who may be about to become famous.
Ryan Locke and Sophia Bush present solid performances. Supercross racers David Pingree and Tyler Evans show easy acting style. A simple back-in-time romance and a brotherly sub-plot are all the storyline "Supercross" has to offer.
The main draw is the richly edited cycle racing film.
