"Not another teen movie was a lot funnier than this." are you fucking serious!? I don't even know how to begin addressing such a ridiculous statement. Superbad is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen period, but it's definitely the kind of thing where you either get it or you don't.
KEY POINT= IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE BELIEVABLE, at least not in terms of the situations the characters get in. what makes the movie work is that the dialog and characters ARE believable, in and of themselves.
