Review of Superbad (2007) by Ton Q — 03 Mar 2015
While many high school films fail to capture its topic accurately, this one succeeds with its likeably awkward et hilarious cast intertwined with a couple of suprsiningly mature messages (like the consequences of over-partying and Michael Cera's character deciding not to take advantage of his intoxicated love interest).
While it does have its problems like the unlikeliness of how an accidental head-butt could leave such a marking yet getting hit by TWO cars just to fall face-first onto concrete leaves barely any as well as (SPOILERS) Emma Stone's character possibly taking interest in the guy who just tried to get her drunk and take advantage of her (though to be fair he did learn his lesson by not getting the chance to and this could've been just an offering of forgiveness).
Nonetheless, I laughed my ass of while watching this film much more often than many other modern comedies or even Seth Rogen movies for that matter.
