Review of Super Troopers 2 (2018) by Karl B — 19 Apr 2018
I set the bar pretty low for this film, knowing to not expect the world from these characters again, and also knowing Broken Lizard are 17 years older. That being said, it seems the trendy thing among critics--and even some fans--is to rip the movie to shreds. Sorry, critics, but did you even watch the first one? Appreciate it? My guess is you did not, so we'll move past your effete snobbery.
TO THE FANS: Trust me, just go in there with an open mind and you'll feel like it's 2001 all over again (the French-Canadian-accent riff between Steve Lemme and Jay Chandrasekhar is an absolute scream, and Kevin Hefferman may be even funnier in this film than in the first). You watched Super Troopers to laugh and giggle at Shenanigans, so just take the ride and enjoy it; the guys put it all back in the movie for you; everything plays to their style, the characters are the same, even the plot is interesting and has some good twists. Kudos to Rob Lowe in this film also; he's dynamite in this film. Un, deux, trois, let's do iiiiiit.
