The review has a lot to do with how much you liked the original. Frankly put, the "critics" who see films as arthouse features wouldn't know an enjoyable time if it bit them in the ass. Spending all of their time ripping on things that are purely fun in an attempt to "disrupt the status quo" while they post pictures of their lattes on instagram. Ignore those, and see movies that you like vs movies that a critic liked.

Now onto the movie. It was great in all the ways that made the original super troopers great. Just an enjoyable, off the wall, completely unbelievable story about a group of friends and cops that don't take their jobs that seriously. Farva is definitely the winner in this take, his attitude and demeanor exactly like that of the original film really gets home. it's a fun fun movie, ignore the accent, and just love rob lowe for this.
