Review of Super Size Me (2004) by Danny O — 04 Sep 2014
This is a movie that will really make you think twice about eating McDonald's. The experiment is an interesting one, one many people can relate to in that we all have at least heard of McDonald's, seen its massive lines of cars, and probably eaten there at least once.
The idea of having this junk food for 30 days straight for every deal was probably not a good move, but it makes for an interesting documentary. It makes you think about your eating habits, effectively getting its message across to the audience.
Sometimes the experiment gets a bit off track in that it starts discussing other sources of junk food and where that came from. And the surgery on camera, no thanks. Not necessary to the experiment that we want to see.
This is a well made documentary in that it gets it's message clearly across the audience with its interesting conclusions. Super Size Me gets 3/5 stars (B-).
