Review of Super Mario Bros. (1993) by Angelo T — 12 Jun 2011

I have no idea why they even finished making this movie. I read that both lead actors were drunk half the time on set just to ease the disappointment. I love the video game series - who doesn't? But this film was just absolute torture to watch, and to me it spit and insulted the makers of the game series.

The only character names they kept were Mario and Luigi (of course), Daisy (whom you remember from Super Mario Land and she is probably supposed to resemble a little bit of Peach as well), and Toad, who was a rocker? Seriously? Mario and Luigi didn't even have their trademark overalls on until about 20 mins left in the movie.

This is a film where they tested it, and failed miserably.
